Por Tí Mi Corazón. Composed by Manuel Ponce (1882-1948, Mexico) and performed by Edson Lopes.
Ponce was a Mexican composer who wrote primarily for guitar and piano. His work centered on composing music based on traditional and popular Mexican folkloric music for classical instruments and ensembles. This piece, for example, is part of his collection of works titled Canciones Populares Mexicanas (Popular Mexican Songs) which he wrote ca. 1925-1926. Por Ti Mi Corazón is a standard in the classical guitar repertoire and is considered an advanced piece due to the use of counterpoint and complex rhythms.
