Opus 60, No. 7 (Étude). Composed by Mateo Carcassi and perfumed by David Jaggs. Carcassi’s etudes and pieces are among the most important works in the classical guitar repertoire. Although this is an étude — a a musically developed study of 1-2 specific techniques — it is very musically interesting and is considered a standard of the classical guitar repertoire.

De La Vera (garrotín). Composed & performed by Rafael Riqueni. The garrotín is another style in the flamenco genre characterized by it’s light and fun expressive tone. Like most flamenco, this style was originally written for guitar, voice and dance although as time goes on you hear it performed less often. Garrotíns are aways in in 4/4 time and written in a major key. Here is a wonderful composition by Rafael Riqueni that is now considered a standard in the flamenco repertoire.
