Tio Arango & La Paloma

Updated: Apr 22, 2022

Here are the Inspirational Performances for 1/22/22. Please try to listen to, or watch them, when you really have uninterrupted time to enjoy the music. And please share with anyone you think would enjoy it too.

Diego Alonso | Music

Tío Arango (Soleá) by Vicente Amigo. The "Soleá" (plural = Soleares) is a 12 beat style in flamenco that is always played using the Spanish Phrygian Scale and the Andalucian Cadence as it's harmonic foundation. Vicente Amigo is one of my favorite flamenco guitarists.

(Flamenco Guitar)

La Paloma (Sebastian Iradier - c.1860), played by Ozan Saritepe. "La Paloma" is a very famous folk song that has been played all over the world. Although the piece has a simple and memorable melody, the challenge in the guitar is to connect the notes and make the guitar sing. (Classical Guitar)
