The garrotín is another style in the flamenco genre characterized by it’s light and fun expressive tone. Like most flamenco, this style was originally written for guitar, voice and dance although as time goes on you hear it performed less often. Garrotíns are aways in in 4/4 time and written in a major key. Here is a wonderful composition by Rafael Riqueni that is now considered a standard in the flamenco repertoire.
