Casilda (tanguillos) composed and performed by Paco de Lucía.
The tanguillo is another style in the flamenco genre characterized by its lively and very syncopated rhythm (in 4/4 time). The original tanguillo from the mid-1800s was a folkloric style of music and singing called the "tango Gaditano" (i.e., the tango from Cádiz). It continues to be a staple of Cadiz's 10-day Carnaval where groups sing and play original and very funny tanguillos that are often politically inspired. Paco de Lucía's instrumental version here was the first of its kind and inspiration to other flamenco creators.
